Day 11 St. Ours Lock to Lock 6 on the Chambly Canal

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETTY!!
 
We departed St Ours Lock at 8:00 a.m. and arrived at the top of Lock 3 (the city of Chambly) on the Chambly Canal at 12:45 p.m. We took this opportunity to restock our food lockers and have lunch.  We departed Lock 3 at 3:00 p.m. and proceeded to the top of Lock 6 in search of a quiet spot for the night.
 
Our route took us through the Richelieu River to the Chambly Canal.
 
Total locks for the day:  6
Total miles travelled for the day:  29.4 miles

Day 12 Lock 6 on the Chambly Canal to Rousse's Point, New York

We departed Lock 6 on the Chambly Canal at 8:35 a.m. and arrived in Rouse's Point, New York at 2:20 p.m. after clearing US Customs and Immigration.
 
Our route took us through the second half of the Chambly Canal and upstream to the mouth of the Richelieu River into Lake Champlain.
 
Total locks for the day:  3
Total miles travelled for the day:  28.6 miles

Day 13 Rousse's Point, New York to Burton Island, Vermont

We departed Rouse's Point, New York at  10:00 a.m. and arrived at Burton Island, Vermont at approximately 12:00 noon.
 
Our route took us south through Lake Champlain then east through The Gut (the actual name of the channel) into the Inland Sea and over to Burton Island.
 
Burton Island is a Vermont State Park which offers dockage, anchorage, power, water, showers and bathroom facilities.
 
Total locks for the day:  0
Total miles travelled for the day:  28.8 miles

Day 15 Burton Island, Vermont to Burlington, Vermont

We departed Burton Island, Vermont at 9:00 a.m. and arrived at the Boat House Municipal Marina in Burlington, Vermont at 10:48 a.m.
 
Our route took us our of the Inland Sea, back through The Gut and south on Lake Champlain into the Burlington harbour.
