Day 34 - Phoenix, New York to Oswego, New York

We departed Phoenix, New York at 8:15 a.m. and arrived at Oswego, New York (the top of Lock 8) at 12:45 p.m. Stopped to reprovision and continued through Lock 8 to arrive at the Oswego Marina (bottom of Lock 8) at 4:00 p.m.

We waited the night listening to the weather reports.  This would be the location where we waited for a good day to cross Lake Ontario.  As luck would have it, the next day was do-able with 10 knot winds from the North East with waves at 2-3 feet forecasted.

Day 35 - Oswego, New York to Kingston, Ontario

We departed Oswego, New York at 7:15 p.m. and arrived at Kingston, Ontario (Confederation Basin) at 12:15 p.m.

We crossed Lake Ontario at 8 miles an hour for the first three hours absorbing the 2-3 foot waves which seemed to magnify with the shore effect.  As we traveled north, the northeast waves pounded our starboard walls with a consistent rhythm.

We were able to plain the last hour as we got closer to the islands which acted as a barrier to the pounding waves.  At Confederation Basin, we cleared Canada Customs and proceeded to the Rideau Marina on the Cataraqui River - 2 miles north of Confederation Basin.
